20th Century Fox in colaboration with Way to Blue approached me to create illustrations to promote the movie Love Simon. These illustrations, about love, secrecy, and identity were to be inspired by the movie, while keeping the branding reds and blues of the film. I chose to do three children's toys scenes, taking place in a kid's room, to keep the series consistent, while driving home the point that identity starts when we are very young. "Why is Straight the Default" just turns the mainstream on it's head by showing an alternative reality where gay is the norm. "He's Done Keeping His Story Straight" shows a scrapbook of his romantic experiences with another man, instead of the heteronormative mainstream. And "You Deserve a Great Love Story" is another one that turns a well-known fairy tale on it's head by having Rapunzel being saved by another woman.
